Did You Pass Your Man Test?
Something strange starts to happen as you get
You start changing the way you celebrate
lifes little milestones.
When I was a young-buck, I’d round up
the crew, grab a bite, then head out on the
town to get CRUNK
Shit man… there are a few of those birthday
celebrations that STILL remain a blur to me
Now that I’m getting older, I can’t really
party that hard any more
I’ve got a career, a girlfriend and other
responsibiltites to attend to.
If I’m gonna be perfectly honest… I don’t
really miss partying as hard as I did
Back then I saw getting shitcanned as a rite of passage
something that men did as they got older
Now, I think that’s a load of shit
The older I get, the more I see how the concept
of manliness has been skewed.
Traditionally the journey into manhood was marked
by a character test or a rite of passage…
Some indigenous tribes required a young man to prove
himself a valued member of the tribe by either;
slaying a wild beast or surviving for days on end without
food or interaction with other members of the tribe
A pretty stark contrast from our modern day
initiations wouldn’t you say?
Why am I telling you all of this?
Because today, a good friend of mine (Elliott Hulse)
celebrates his 34th birthday.
Elliott is one of the few guys I know who
fits into my model of modern day masculinity
He has a strong personal mission, lives by his own rules,
runs a successful business and is also a father to
four kick-ass kids.
And if that weren’t enough… he also happens to be
a pretty generous S.O.B
As we speak, he is giving away FREEE copies of his
Advanced 5×5 training manual to anyone he has helped
over the years
That’s what this manhood thing is all about
Either way if you’d like to know how to get your hands
