The Guilt Was Too Much To Bare
I’ve got an awful admission to make.
The past few weeks I’ve been skipping out
on going to the gym
I’ve been doing a little experiment from
the comforts of my own home
I wanna see if I can simplify my training
and still manage to get stronger
Every other day I head down to our Condo gym
putting myself through a bare-bones workout
Yesterdays workout I did some cleans, rows and
snatches alternating between the kettlebell
and suspension trainer
It’s the furthest thing from my traditional routine
of dumbbells, barbells and madness
I guess in a strange way, one could liken
this to mixed martial arts training
Just like in MMA – rather than focusing on just
one training style…
I’ve decided to borrow from many different systems.
If the success of mixed martial arts has proved anything
It’s that a well-rounded approach can make you an even
I’ve given myself a month to test this out
If it works I will let you know
So far I can tell you this… the change in pace has
been a complete shock to my body.
And isn’t that what training, is really all about?
